Being Bad Is Not Good For Website SEO

People have been going on and on with efforts to increase their online presence through any means and now that has even included being rude to your customers, all for website SEO.

In case you didn't know, there was an article published in New York Times talking about a business which intentionally created bad customer experiences in order to improve their rankings. As a result, they did boost their ratings in search engines.

According to the merchant, you can generate complaints and negative complaints for your site. The main point of the article is that being bad on the web is good for business. Such an unorthodox approach, but can be considered ingenious to those who want visitors for that purpose only.

However, Google caught up with them and is now extending its efforts to provide search results that exclude those businesses. They developed an algorithmic solution that detects those merchants that provide very bad customer experience. They do not intend to disclose the details of their solution because of people trying to work their way around the Google ranking system.

Aside from changing their search algorithms to address this issue, they also penalized the business for doing such act.

It cannot be avoided that people will always try and find loopholes in the ranking algorithms. However, just to be clear, Google is making it clear that being bad to customers is bad for business in Google.

Remember that Website SEO's main purpose is to increase your online presence in order to get potential customers to come to your site. Building a good lasting relationship with them is your responsibility as a merchant as well.

If you spent all your efforts making bad publicity in order to increase your rankings, it may end up backfiring.

Make Your Visitors Stay With This Tips

Everyone that lands on your website is a potential customer. Instead of having them jump to the next site of interest, there are ways of making sure that they stick around and browse through your other pages.

Below are some of the ways that you can have these visitors stay a little longer and hopefully be frequent visitors or even followers.

Make every page a landing page. Google indexes every page you have and when they end up in the search engines, depending on your SEO efforts, they can land on different pages and not just your home page. Remember that every page in your site should be treated as a landing page. Develop your pages to look as if it were the first page that visitors will see.

Publish more true content. A lot of people use link bait to get people to their site. It's a strategy of getting people there in the first place. However, if your site doesn't really have the information the customer wants, they'll just be upset and leave your site immediately. So be sure to link bait carefully. It may damage your reputation.

If you say it, do it. We often promise readers something if they click on our links. If you promise them a free report, or a solution, or an informational article, don't make them buy them at the end of all your marketing pages. You need to give some to get some. If you promise you can teach them how to play chess by reading your post, then teach them how to play chess, or at least give them some pointers to do better at chess. This is short of saying that you shouldn't lie in you post titles. Readers will never trust you again if you're using a lot of misleading headlines.

Avoid teasing, or at least minimize it. You can be tempted to do some introductory paragraph do brace the reader for something that you're actually presenting. You may ask them questions to lead them on, making them think that you understand them. Don't prolong this too much. Sometimes readers want to get straight to the point. It's better to get down to business and stop flirting.

It's great that you get to have readers in your site. But remember that it's just as important, or even more important, to get them to stay and return for more.

Getting More From Your LinkedIn Account

If you want to participate in social platforms, you're most likely to go to Facebook and Twitter. Their interfaces make it very easy for you to interact with other people. The same can be said with YouTube if you're into watching videos. In the case of updating your professional resume, there's LinkedIn.

Many would admit that they only use this platform when they're in need of it. You can chalk these instances to those when they're approaching the end of one career or perhaps when in search for another one.

For those of you who are not aware, LinkedIn is also a place where you can channel your marketing efforts. Here are a few tips for you to consider:

Let Your Profile Speak For You. When you create your personal profile, be sure to convey from the start what you're trying to achieve. Give your contact information and don't make up names. Also, make use of the three URLs you are allowed to use and optimize them for keywords you’re targeting for.

Extend your network. If you think someone can help you achieve your goals, extend an invitation to them. You can even import your contacts from other accounts but be sure to personalize each invitation. People tend to respond more positively if the messages accompanying the invitations are personalized.

Participate. Like all social networks, participate. Ask questions and answer them. Get in touch with other people and introduce them to other people who you think would be able to help out. Build connections that are helpful. Build a relationship, not just a connection with your colleagues.

Manage it properly. It only takes a few moments to manage your account. In that time, you'll be able to join groups and be active. Be conscious of what you say since this is not Facebook. This is a professional network.

Post relevant news. Unlike Facebook where people don't mind you sharing that you're eating cheerios for breakfast, update your status with relevant news pertaining to your industry.

Follow others. Keep up to date with the news of your industry by following the relevant people. You'll be able to receive updates on their status.

Linkbuilding Strategies For Increasing Your Website Presence

It is very important to increase your website presence through linkbuilding. Not only does it increase your readers, it also increases your chances of making money in the internet.

In order to increase your website presence, you need to do linkbuilding. Below are some linkbuilding strategies that will certainly be helpful to you.

Submit Articles. Submit articles on your niche topic and submit it to article directories for backlinking. Aside from getting links back to your site, you also get a lot of readers should people stumble on those articles. These articles are good sources of links as well as visitors.

Squidoo Lenses. Similar to submitting articles, create Squidoo lenses with links to your site. It only takes less than 20 minutes to create one. Another site similar to Squidoo is Hubpages.

Social Media Profiles. With Social media running rampant in the internet today, it only makes sense to make use of these opportunities to create links for your site. Places where you can create those links are through your profile pages.

Social Bookmarking. Another way to get your site noticed are social bookmarking sites. These sites are mainly for creating bookmarks across the web for sites that are interest the user.

Blog Creation. Because of the abundance of Web2.0 sites that can have you easily setup your own blog within 20 minutes, that's only short of telling that you can have your links published for free. Though these sites are not exactly created for this purpose, it's certainly one way of taking advantage of this opportunity.

Use signatures in forums. Forums have an option to use signatures when signing into forums. Most would use quotations, sayings, or catch phrases. In this case, instead of using those things, use a link instead to your site. That is if HTML tagging is allowed.

If you really want to improve your website presence, make sure to create links and create a lot of them. After all, you can never get enough links.

How To Promote Your Website SEO Efforts Offline

When we talk about SEO, the first thing that comes to mind is the internet. After all, the Website SEO means Search Engine Optimization. Now, here I am sharing tips on how to promote your SEO efforts offline. Consider the irony in that.

As a matter of fact, supplementing your online strategies with offline strategies are actually very helpful especially if you're running local businesses. It may be a different thing for international retailers. However, if you're running a medical spa in LA, or perhaps a clinic in Chicago, having offline strategies may actually benefit you a lot.

Here are a few tips for promoting your SEO efforts offline.

Use offline advertising to promote your web presence. Aside from advertising the name of your company in local publications, you can include your online accounts as well to increase your internet presence. By posting your Facebook or twitter accounts, you'll be able to give readers easy access even when they're not using a computer.

Ditch the traditional Business cards. Another way to say it would be, make your business cards online friendly. If a traditional business card should contain your name, your company, your position and your number, these days, you should consider putting in your website and social media accounts as well. In a way, it is also a form of advertising. You can even use those cards as means of promoting different events that you have.

Use your Car for advertising. Have you ever seen cars that have all those company logos plastered on their sides and even their windshields? Well, this is a milder version of that. By availing of custom car stickers, you can convert your cars into a mobile billboard.

Be Creative. At this day and age, you'd be surprised at the next gimmick that can be proven effective. Use games, use technology, use whatever resources you can.
